Throughout our guest accommodation you will find a sense of reverence for this place in which you will find yourself. A place unique in Canada if not the world; a delicate biosphere represented in the design of E’terra itself with the concepts of escarpment overhangs and natural bridges.
There is the grandeur one finds in a century’s old timberland and a giant’s rib of Precambrian rock and ancient coral ridge. And from everywhere you look there is the water. It is all here singing and resonating throughout the great home itself. It is in the soaring 35′ tall Douglas Fir, pine, ash and cedar posts and beams salvaged from across Canada; it is in the waterfall rockface that was impossible to cut through left at the heart of the great home; it is in the limestone wall that surrounds the hearth in the dining room, where you will feast your soul as much as your palate, you will be living in the wild but in luxurious balance with the wilderness.
‘At E’Terra, they call it Ecopicurean!’
The names for the suites have been selected from local species found on the Bruce Peninsula because of the wonderful natural conditions. Merlin’s Loft is an exception and was chosen because it is at the top of Laurie’s list of favourite species and we all like Merlin.
You will notice touches of wit and whimsy about E’Terra and what is evident in the appointments is the appreciation for art and beauty. It is all designed with great attention to detail to be compatible with ecology, repose and luxury.
